Why do you CrossFit?
I do crossfit because I wanted to challenge myself in a different way. I competed in powerlifting quite a few years ago and transitioned into more cardiovascular workouts like spin classes and running. I wanted to get back into lifting weights. Having seen the crossfit games on TV I thought this would be a great way to get into weight training and challenge myself by doing lifts that I’ve never really done before.
What is your favorite movement?
My favorite move …thats a tough one. There are a few..most people don’t like burpees but I find them extremely challenging to say the least and don’t mind doing them. Chin ups I also like. My favorite though would be the squat!!!
What movement do you HATE?
A movement that I hate??? Currently that would the snatch. This lift is frustrating me to no end. Though I’m getting better at it. Learning to ” dance” with bar with this lift is probably the most challenging thing I’m working on. Coaches are great working with me on my technique and flexibility in trying to perfect this lift.
If you could be any superhero, who would you be?!
Not much into super hero’s….but if I had to pick one …Spider Man. I would be able to do muscle ups on the bar and rings with no problem.!!! Truly though I would be my Father in Law. WW2 Vet…Command Sergeant Major in the Army. Family of 10. His father passed away when he was in his late teens. His older brother was already in the Army and overseas. So he was now charge of the family and helping his mother in any way he could. Went on to marry and have 5 children of his own. Took great care of his wife when she became ill. He was a great golfer as well!!! Your truly a great man… Francis Sweeney
