My name is Gabrielle Montenegro (Gabby for short) and I’m original from Saratoga Springs, NY and have been in the Boston area for 3 years now. I have grown up playing sports all my life and I played college ice hockey at SUNY Oswego in New York State. As well as coaching CrossFit, I also coach the Girls’ Varsity Ice Hockey Team at Beaver Country Day School in Chestnut Hill. Once graduating from college I tried to find the same competitive, fast pace environment like hockey and within a couple months I discovered CrossFit and have been doing it now for 4.5 years and have loved it ever since! Within the last year, I have been lucky enough learn and get taught by some of the best CrossFit Coach in the business at Reebok CrossFit One which has allowed me to spread that information and knowledge I have learned to a new CrossFit Community. CrossFit has allowed me to continue pushing myself physically and mentally and has introduced me to so many like-minded people that known the importance’s of fitness in once life. As a coach I want to inspire individuals to make long term lifestyle changes, and I have found that CrossFit’s scalable intensity and commitment to functional movement make it the perfect program for individuals of all ages and abilities. I always like to tell new people or people interested in trying CrossFit that anyone can take part and do any of the functional movements in CrossFit. All the movements shown and taught in CrossFit are actions we use in the world outside of the CrossFit Box, so should all master them with the best of our ability.
John Quigley, CrossFit Level 1, CPT
John has been a Certified Level 1 CrossFit Trainer since 2010. He started training with CrossFit in 2008 while stationed in Virginia. John was bored with the traditional Army physical fitness program (pushups, situps, & run) and wanted to find something that would challenge him mentally and physically. After his first session at CrossFit Alexandria (later Outlaw CrossFit), he was hooked. Since then John has visited and worked out in over 15 CrossFit Affiliates across the U.S. and last coached at a Military Affiliate. He is known for his vast collection of CrossFit t-shirts, loves any workout with a heavy deadlift, and has developed a special love/hate relationship with the hero WOD “DT.” John is passionate about CrossFit and has made it his personal goal to prove genetics don’t have to be an excuse for achieving fitness and living a healthy lifestyle.
